About me…

I’m Rob, a 40-year-old individual crafted in Poland but born in the beautiful landscapes of South Africa. Since 2007, I’ve proudly embraced the title of a world citizen. My journey in the skies began in the late ’80s, and by the tender age of 9, I embarked on my first solo intercontinental flight from South Africa to Europe. The purpose? A visit to my dad, who was working there at the time.

In the professional realm, I wear the hat of a Cost and Contracts Manager within the construction industry. This career path has led me to call 11 different countries home, spending a significant amount of time in each. My travels have been extensive, exploring the diverse cultures these countries offer.

As a solo traveler, I’ve navigated the globe, taking advantage of the 2-3 weeks off I enjoy every month due to the nature of my professional life. Not everyone can match that vacation time, but it has allowed me to fuel my affinity for travel.

Perhaps I owe this passion to the DRD4-7R gene, commonly known as The Wanderlust Gene. Scientifically speaking, this gene influences dopamine levels in the brain, impacting behavior and motivation. For us wanderlusters, it means a penchant for taking risks, diving into the unknown, and exploring far-flung destinations.

Welcome to my blog, where I share my experiences and tips to help you fulfill your travel dreams—affordably and with the authenticity of a local. Join me on this exciting journey!
